The Appliance Does Not Work

 

  • Ensure the appliance is switched on.
  • Check if there has been a power outage.
  • Inspect the plug to ensure it is not damaged.
  • Verify that the fuse has not blown.
  • Ensure the voltage is correct for the appliance.
  • Test the socket by plugging in another device to confirm it’s functional.

 

The Appliance Is Not Cooling Enough

 

  • Avoid overloading the appliance with too much food or items.
  • Ensure the thermostat is set to the appropriate temperature.
  • Make sure the appliance is not placed in direct sunlight or near a heat source.
  • Check that the ambient temperature is within the operating limits of the appliance.
  • Limit how frequently the door is opened, as humid air entering the appliance can impact performance.
  • Confirm that the door is fully closed and that the gasket seals properly.
  • Ensure there is sufficient clearance around the sides and back for proper ventilation.

 

The Temperature Inside the Appliance Is Too Cold

 

  • Adjust the thermostat to a higher temperature.
  • Use the highest setting only for rapid cooling after adding large quantities of items. Remember to reset it afterward.
  • Prolonged use of the highest setting can cause the internal temperature to drop below 0°C, causing the compressor to run continuously.

 

The Door Does Not Close Properly

 

  • Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the door from closing.
  • Check that shelves and compartments are correctly positioned.
  • Inspect the door gasket to ensure it is not torn, warped, or dirty.
  • Confirm that the appliance is on a flat and level surface.

 

Unusual Noises

 

  • Bubbling or gurgling noises are normal and result from refrigerant flowing through the system.
  • Water flowing sounds during defrosting are normal as water drains into the trough.
  • Cracking or popping noises can occur as the internal walls adjust to temperature changes.
  • If the compressor is noisy, this indicates it is operating normally but under load. The noise should subside shortly.
  • Ensure the appliance is level to minimise vibrations.
